Program Information


INTRODUCTION:

  • Designed for both student and professional physical therapists and physical therapist assistants.
  • Aimed at enhancing shoulder mobility and stability for dancers.
  • Intended to eliminate movement restrictions hindering dance performance.
  • Assumes the dancer is not injured, tailored for functional rehabilitation or wellness programs.


VIDEO BREAKDOWN:


**Video 1: Foundation Building**

  • Video breakdown explaining clinical and evidence-based reasoning.
  • Focus on establishing baseline mobility and stability.
  • Introduction to warm-up exercises (not progressed):
  • Main exercises (4-5 exercises that are progressed weekly)
  • Cool-down exercises (static stretching)


**Videos 2-9: Progressive Workouts**

  • Each week introduces new exercises with increased intensity or complexity.
  • Emphasis on gradual progression to challenge mobility and stability.
  • PT/PTA must use own clinical reasoning to decide if an exercise needs to be progressively intensified or modified based on individual capacity.


NOTE:

  • Programs save time for PT/PTAs by providing structured guidance.
  • Exercises designed in warm-up, main, and cool-down sections.
  • Warm-up exercises remain constant, main exercises progress, cool-down focuses on static stretching.
  • Some programs deviate from this format (explained in video one).
  • Tailor exercises based on individual patient's needs and progression.
  • Programs instill confidence in working towards functional goals for dancers.
